ABSTRACT
This article is devoted to spiritual and moral education of young people, viewed through the prism of the value orientations of modern society. The author, on the basis of statistical data, determined the dynamics of the value orientations fall in the late XX – early XXI century. In many ways, this is due to the development of the global information space, which is most often used as a means of making a profit, as well as an anonymous uncensored sphere of communication. The author on specific examples speaks about the implementation of some areas of the Belgorod strategy for the development of a solidary society. Voluntary participation of citizens in the activities of the socially significant plan demonstrates the growing interest in such activities. The author notes that the perspective of the society development requires further joint efforts of the state and public organizations in all areas of the policy of value orientation, new ideas, means and forms of educational work organization.

ABSTRACT
The article considers historical data on the formation and further development of the Tabyn fortress of the XVIII–XX centuries. Since its construction the outpost has been repeatedly attacked by the Tabyn Bashkirs. In 1735 Ivan Kirillov laid the five bastions earth city with a view to the defense. The study of the defensive structures of Tabynsk is important from the point of view of revealing local features of fortress construction in the Southern Urals. The Tabyn fortifications are the largest realized project of a closed defensive outpost of the XVIII century with bastions, as well as an earthen rampart and a moat in the Bashkortostan territory.
KEYWORDS: fortress, rampart, moat, bastion, modern history, fortification.

ABSTRACT
The paper deals with the history of the emergence, formation, extraction and processing development of oil shale in the Volga region. The oil shale is shown to have played a key role in the formation of the fuel and energy base of the Middle Volga region as one of the largest industrial areas of Russia. The government’s decisions to use the potential of oil shale were of great importance, aiming at the energy development in the region and its industrialization. Such decisions were made in crisis conditions in the absence of other sources of fuel and, as practice showed, were justified, despite the fact that in general the shale industry was unprofitable and for a long time received state subsidies. The presence of mines and a slate processing plant were also important during the Great Patriotic War. In fact, the development of industry on the territory of the Middle Volga region is connected with the expansion of the shale business.
KEYWORDS: the history of mining and processing of oil shale, the historical role of the oil shale of the Volga region, oil shale, the Kashpir deposit.

ABSTRACT
The investigation of the settlements of the Golden Horde period in the Bashkir Preurals is one of the topical directions in the study of the history of the region. In 2017 the scientists from IEI UFIC RAS with the participation of the scientists and students of the Bashkir State University conducted the archaeological excavation of settlement of the Golden Horde period named Podimalovo-1 which was found by G. N. Garustovich in 2010. As a result, the scientists found four farm buildings. Ceramic complex is characterized by fairly homogeneous fragments stoneware of Golden Horde period with fragments of imported pottery XIV century. Collection of individual archaeological specimens includes numerous traces of metallurgical production, metal handicrafts, bone-carrying handicrafts etc. The structures recorded at the end of excavation and the specifics of the artifacts indicate that it was a production site. The study found that this archaeological site is a single-layer stationary settlement of the Golden Horde era. On the basis of the found archaeological material, this archaeological site was dated of XIV century. The study of the village allowed to supplement the source base necessary for the reconstruction of the main stages of the ethnopolitical history of the population of the southern Urals in the Golden Horde period.

ABSTRACT
The paper presents the results of the study of field journals of N.A. Mazhitov. The publication provides a summary and general description of twenty-hree documents representing field records of expeditionary archaeological work conducted from 1957 to 1968. Particular attention is paid to the descriptions of archaeological work on the settlements of Bakhmutino archaeological culture. Attraction of this type of sources allowed obtaining information about unpublished archeological monuments, as well as replenishing data on the known objects. The study allows us to emphasize the relevance of using this type of sources.
