ABSTRACT
Based on the analysis studies on the design, optimality and efficiency of the learning process, a model of the educational process is proposed, based on the block-modular approach and the mathematical theory of graphs. It is shown that during the process design and depending on the filling of modules and their meaning, this model can be transformed and useful not only in the development and analysis of work programs, but also reflect the development of the personality, including taking into account negative factors. The boundaries of the proposed model are determined. The question of introducing qualitative and quantitative estimates of this model on the basis of graph theory for controlling bodies is considered. Advantages of the application of the block-modular approach to the creation of educational programs in conjunction with the application of the model of the proposed species are highlighted.
KEYWORDS: block-modular approach, educational program, training process graph, work program, criterion, quality of education, qualitative and quantitative evaluation.

ABSTRACT
The article examines the experience of natural-science training in a non-state educational institution at the beginning of the 20th century, as exemplified by the A.L. Shanyavsky Moscow People’s University that had been very popular among the people. The University’s Natural History Division offered training in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and geology. Much attention was given to practical classes and experimental work involving students. As compared to its counterpart at the Imperial Moscow University, Natural History Division of the People’s University was distinguished for the variety of regular courses as well as numerous ad hoc courses. This was due to the Shanyavsky University’s faculty who developed their own original courses based not only on the scientific achievements of the time but also on training needs of the students studying at the Shanyavsky University.

ABSTRACT
The article substantiates the necessity of introducing a gender approach into modern historical - scientific research. This situation is especially acute in the domestic historical science. The creation of biographical dictionaries or encyclopedic publications on the contribution of women to the development of individual scientific disciplines will ultimately lead to the discovery of women’s role in the past of the science.. The article announces the preparation of a similar project, dedicated to the activities of women in the field of natural sciences and mathematics, entitled “Born in the Russian Empire”. In this issue we intend to publisha series of articles concerning this project. Readers are invited to look through a first one dedicated to the pioneer works of women-astronomers.
KEYWORDS: “female history”, gender, history of science, women-astronomers.

ABSTRACT
The article is dedicated to the memory of Anna Markovna Lozinskaya – an outstanding gravimetrist, who made a great contribution to the creation and implementation of Russian gravimeters and radio geodetic systems. In 1943, under her leadership, the Kotur-Tepinskaya gravimetric party discovered an anomaly of gravity at the outlet of the bedrock, which led to the discovery of the largest oil field in South-West Turkmenistan. An important contribution was made by Anna Markovna in the development of air gravimetry in the USSR. In 1972, under her leadership, the Graviton air-gravimetric complex was created.
